Biographical information about John Legend

In his hometown, he attended a high school and graduated second. As a result, he received invitations from prestigious universities such as Harvard and Georgetown. But he chose to study English philology at the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in African-American literature. At the university, he was a member of an a cappella group performing jazz and pop music. While he was a member of the group, John’s voice and performances earned rave reviews.

As his popularity grew, John Legend began performing in larger cities such as New York and Atlanta. John produced two independent albums during this time, Demo (2000) and Live at Jimmy’s Uptown (2001), which he promoted during his performances.
