In the same way that a great puzzle is pieced together little by little, most great bands begin modestly. BTS was no exception. The South Korean record company Big Hit Entertainment-perhaps the biggest in the country-held auditions in 2010 to form a new music group that combined rap and pop. RM, also known as Kim Nam-joon, was the first to pass these auditions.

Bulletproof Boy Scouts is the acronym for BTS, which translates to “bulletproof boy scouts” in Spanish. His followers call themselves ARMY (Adorable Representative MC for Youth), which means ‘representatives of youth’ in Spanish.

Boy band BTS: an exceptional group
In South Korea, BTS became popular among the younger audience with their combination of hip hop and Anglo-Saxon pop music. The music charts soared with his single NO. Despite their fame and recognition, they were not as well known as other bands at the time, such as Super Junior and Girls Generation.
As a result of their appearances on a variety of South Korean television shows, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook became more and more popular. Rolling Stone magazine considered BTS’s album Wings one of the most ambitious and original albums of 2016 after it surpassed all the Kpop groups in its country and opened a wonderful path in music. As well as selling millions of copies worldwide, the album allowed the band to enter the “Billboard 200” list and stay there for weeks.

Originality is important to the BTS boys, and each of their projects has a unique concept. A classic of youth literature, Demian, by German Hermann Hesse, inspired Wings’ idea for the album.
An unstoppable force
In 2017, BTS won the top social artist award at the Billboard awards, catapulting them into the Anglo-Saxon music market. In 2018, the band released Love Yourself: Her De ella, their fifth studio album. DNA, a song on this album that reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for a few weeks, was recorded in Los Angeles and South Korea.
